rob + lindsey

On a crisp autumn day in September, Rob + Lindsey finally said, “I do”. It was a sacred and beautiful Friday filled to the brim with family, friends, excitement and love. It seemed like everyone there was SO pumped for Rob + Lindsey to become husband and wife and being a part of their day was definitely a reminder of why I love my job.

I like these two and I liked their wedding day… I hope you do as well! Ready to see their wedding day preview?? I thought so…
“Rob, today you not only marry my daughter, but today, you become my son…” – Lindsey’s dad made a wonderful speech as he handed his daughter to Rob. It was just one of the times I teared up that day… Their bridal party was pretty rad… and Lindsey even got me my own pair of sunglasses so I could fit in with them! YES! ;)
The reception was held in the Grand Ballroom at the Inn at St. Johns – always a stunning venue for a celebration!

Can’t get enough of these lovebirds? Check out their Holland, MI engagement session on the old blog!

austin + anne – farmington hills, mi

Folks, I did it again. I got behind on blogging. Really, I could put the blame on a number of things, but instead, I’ll just say… I’m sorry! Thanks for being patient :) The weddings aren’t over, yet, and I have plenty of sessions to share – so don’t fret – I’ll be sharing many pictures once I get back into a routine!

For now, I want to share with you some portraits and ceremony shots from one of my September weddings. Anne and I go way back. Many of my youth group memories involve this amazing lady and it was such a joy to be able to capture her wedding day for her and Austin! These two were married at Grace Chapel EPC just a few weeks ago. (Anne + I grew up there and it’s the same church where Jonathan and I got married almost 2 years ago!) Here are a few of favorites from their beautiful autumn wedding…Now, THIS was an original twist on the unity candle! The idea behind this “unity symbol” comes from the story of Hernando Cortez. In 1519, Cortez settled on the shores of Mexico and immediately had his crew burn the ships. The reason? They were going to figure out how to survive or die. So, as they entered into the marriage commitment, Austin + Anne burned the ships as a symbol that they were never going back to their old lives. They are committed to each other now – ’til death do they part!
