Oh boy – where do I begin with these two? It seems like they stumbled into our lives by happenstance and now, I can’t imagine what our lives would be like without them. Via a mutual acquaintance, Andy met my husband when a new job brought him to Grand Rapids. Soon after Andy moved to town, we met his girlfriend, Kryss and they started coming to our church. Over the course of a year or so, they became dear friends and now, we are deeply rooted in a beautiful little community together. This community shares weekly meals, life, and a beautiful little urban farm. These two are an extension of my family and I was honored to photograph one of the biggest days of their life.
Andy + Kryss met their freshman year of Central Michigan University. After a few months of friendship, they began dating and continued to do so as they finished their degrees, traveled the world and found jobs. Just over a year ago, they got engaged and began the wedding plans! All of their planning + preparation came to fruition last month on a warm, sunny Saturday. On a hillside, in the site of family + friends, they committed their lives to each other. It was a sacred, intimate ceremony – full of emotion, beauty + love. They celebrated the rest of the evening in the nearby barn – with delicious bar-be-que, homemade cupcakes + drinks and yard games + popcorn. The entirety of the festivities took place at The Barn at Town Corners in New Era, Michigan.
Andy + Kryss, thank-you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me into your lives, for treating me like family and for letting me capture your wedding day for you. It was the perfect celebration and a joy to see all your amazing plans come to life. I continue to wish you the best as you enjoy marriage!
Um, the ring “bear” and flower girl?? Too much cuteness!
My second shooter took the afternoon off to officiate the ceremony. I guessss I could let it slide ;) (ps; this was the first ceremony that Jonathan officiated – I was so proud of him!!!)
