This day. It was a Saturday in July… the sun was shining and the breeze was just right. It was a day spent at a beautiful Bed + Breakfast in the country. Friends + family gathered from all over the state to celebrate. THIS day, was the day that David + Brittany said “I do” and committed forever to each other. Yep, this was a good day.
He’s from Detroit. She’s from Lansing… but they fell in love in Grand Rapids. Over the last couple years, it has become clear to me that David + Brittany mean the world to each other. They are kind and compassionate individuals. They make each other laugh, yet they deeply care for each other and they couldn’t wait to become husband + wife!
Their festivities all took place at the Rosewood Inn in Lansing, Michigan. Everyone got ready in the Inn, the ceremony was outside in the gardens and the reception was just steps away on the beautiful property bordered by corn fields. It was an amazing venue for an amazing couple and it was truly a joy to be a part of their first day of marriage. Congratulations, David + Brittany! Thank-you for allowing me to be a part of your story :)
Can we take a moment to talk about THAT DRESS!? And how gorgeous is Brittany?? Yea, she made my job easy that day! :)
David gifted Brittany with a purple star balloon… something that’s been special to them during their relationship!
Hello blog-world! I have another AWESOME wedding to share with you today… the wedding story of Shaun + Kelli!
These two met about four years ago while working at the same firm in downtown Grand Rapids. Their love was unexpected, but perfect. Shaun + Kelli enjoy traveling + being outdoors, spending time with family + friends and hanging out in the beautiful city of Grand Rapids. They are intelligent + caring, they respect + love each other and they are the best of friends. As individuals, these two are pretty great, but as a couple they make a stellar team. It’s been a joy to get to know them and to witness one of the best days of their lives.
Their wedding took place just about a month ago – on a Saturday afternoon in June. The entire day was so much fun. Shaun + Kelli have a community of really wonderful people around them and it was such a delight to celebrate with them. The ceremony was held at Cornerstone Church in Heritage Hill and the reception lasted through the night at the Western Michigan University Conference Center in downtown. Without further adieu, here’s a little preview of their day…
These three were ready for the best day ever! :)
Just a quick stop to sneak in a kiss where they had their FIRST kiss…. :)
As the sun set, we snuck out for a few more portraits… I think it was worth it :)
CONGRATULATIONS, SHAUN + KELLI!
PS; A big thanks to the awesome guys from Deep End Films that joined us this day. I can’t wait to see what they captured!
When I met with Michelle, she couldn’t stop smiling as she told me about her groom-to-be. She talked about how Brett is kind + caring and he treats her so well. Even more, she talked about how they are the best of friends and couldn’t be more excited to start their married life together. Just from the way her face lit up, I was excited to meet Brett and to celebrate such a joyous occasion with them. And their wedding plan? A classy, but fun wedding in Michelle’s hometown of Imlay City – a small town located in the “thumb” of Michigan. They were planning a church ceremony, with an outdoor reception on her father’s property. There would be yard games, good food, champagne and fireworks… yep, I was totally pumped to capture their day for them!
Well, last month, on an absolutely perfect Saturday in June, Brett + Michelle tied the knot… and the day was exactly how they envisioned it. The entire event was fun, yet fancy – full of laughter and beautiful moments. It was an honor to capture this part of their story for them… and I hope you enjoy a sneak peek into their day! Congratulations, Brett + Michelle! :)
When the bride’s father is a lettuce farmer… you better believe we are going to sneak a few pictures with the lettuce fields :)
This wedding… and these two people!? Let’s just say, my heart was bursting the entire day! Dan + Tina are absolutely made for each other and I consider it an honor not only to share in their wedding story, but also to be able to call these two friends. If you’re a regular visitor to this blog, you may recognize these two from their engagement session(s)… part one + part two… and today, I finally get to share their wedding!
The day was perfect. It was a hot day at the end of May, but the sun was shining and friends and family were excited to celebrate alongside these two. The entire event was held at Barothy Lodge in Branch, Michigan along the Pere Marquette River. Dan + Tina crafted a day that was special + unique to the two of them and their love. All of the details were handmade by them or friends + family. We even took some portraits in the boat that Dan built himself… and proposed in!
It was hard to narrow down favorites for this blog post, but I did my best :) Enjoy a peek into their story! And, Dan + Tina… congratulations again, friends. So excited for this new journey you two are sharing together! Love you much!
The cufflinks that Tina gifted Dan were legen… (wait for it) DARY! (HIMYM fans, anyone? :))
Instead of a unity candle, Dan + Tina incorporated their love of coffee. They combined cream + sugar into the one mug and both took a sip from the coffee!
My, my… hello July! Just like that, we’ve celebrated Independence Day and the summer is halfway over! Whew! So far, it’s been a full, delightful summer for me – filled with lots of weddings and opportunities to photograph many amazing kiddos, families and couples. Of course, in between the photo shoots, we’ve snuck away to the Great Lake Michigan, enjoyed strolls along the Detroit River and even enjoyed a mid-week camping trip, to name a few highlights. Hopefully you have had a chance to soak up some rays, eat some ice cream or relax with loved ones! If not, don’t fret – the summer isn’t over, yet!
Speaking of summer… and weddings… :) Steph + Todd are tying the knot NEXT MONTH! To celebrate, we spent a couple hours together wandering around a park, enjoying the sunshine… oh, and snapping a few photos of them. ;) Despite the heat (it was quiiiiite warm!), these two kept me smiling all afternoon. And through our conversations and interactions, it became clear to me that these two are a perfect fit. Their August wedding will be here before we know it, but until then, here are a few of my favorites from my afternoon with Steph + Todd!
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEPH! :)
