The last time you saw these two, it was mid-summer, sunny, and hot. Today… well, today in Michigan, it’s quite opposite. October has begun and brought with it chillier temperatures, cloudier days and a bit of rain. But, I’m always thankful for seasonal change – and, the color is really starting to pop on the trees, which is just delightful. :)
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though – because I today, I want to take you back to the last weekend in August… Todd + Steph’s wedding day.
Surrounded by their family + friends, these two tied the knot at Calvary Baptist Church in Holland, Michigan. It was a meaningful ceremony, with parents + grandparents participating, siblings + their kids standing up with them and a strong emphasis on their faith and what brought them to that place together. After the ceremony, everyone headed south to the Trestle Stop to enjoy some delicious food + celebrate together. Despite the threat of storms all day, it ended being absolutely perfect weather and a beautiful celebration for Todd + Steph. These two individuals are hilarious + fun, they respect each other and were so pumped to become husband + wife… that kind of excitement is contagious and it makes me love my job even more :)
Todd + Steph, thank-you for your willingness to invite me into your story – and, congratulations again!! Enjoy this snapshot into your day!
It was a bright, blue-skied Saturday morning. Everyone awoke as the sun was rising and the house was busy with excitement. Coffee was brewing, the smell of warm, baked oatmeal filled the air… mmm! As Lynnae, her bridesmaids and her momma got ready – their faces + conversations were filled with excitement. The day had finally come! This day was the day that Lynnae was going to marry Brian… and it was a good, good day.
Brian + Lynnae met and fell in love in Boston. He’s an engineer, she’s in non-profit work… and they couldn’t be more wonderful for each other. They make a great team and know how to have fun together. Their mutual care + respect for one another is unwavering and inspiring. They are both kind + compassionate individuals… and even after just a few minutes with them, it’s clear to see that they adore each other and they love others well.
They wed at the historic Park Street Church in downtown Boston. We took pictures in the Public Garden, ate delicious local BBQ and macaroons and danced until it was ready to send the newlyweds off to Rhode Island. Being a part of Brian + Lynnae’s wedding was a delight. I’m so grateful to have been invited to spend the weekend with the two of them and their families. Brian + Lynnae – THANK YOU for allowing me to tell your story. You two share a beautiful love and it was a true joy to celebrate with you. Enjoy this glimpse into your day :)
Park Street Church is one of the first stops on “The Freedom Trail” – a walkable path through the historic sites of Boston. Jonathan + I had the chance to walk the Freedom Trail a couple days before the wedding and it was so fascinating to see + hear about all the historical events that took place within a few miles!
These two… Katie + Dan. They are one of the first couples to take a chance on me – and I’m forever grateful for them. Dan is Lynnae’s brother :)
Those macaroons, though… a little piece of heaven.
David + Sara are the kind of people you just want to be around. They are genuine, kind, and totally funny… but more importantly, they are totally in love and care deeply for one another. You can hear it in their voices and see it in their faces – they are smitten and excited for this new adventure they’ve embarked on together.
David + Sara currently live in Georgia, but they decided to celebrate in Michigan – where they both grew up and where their love began. He’s from the upper peninsula, she’s from the lower peninsula, so they chose to celebrate right about in the middle! :) The wedding was in Leland, Michigan – one of Lake Michigan’s key beach towns – on the edge of the Leelanau Peninsula. Family + friends gathered at the Leland Lodge for an outdoor ceremony, local brews on the patio and a delicious BBQ dinner. (oh, and for dessert, they had an ice cream sundae bar featuring the best ice cream in the area – Moomers!)
The entire day was beautiful – not only because of the PERFECT weather and the soft, romantic details… but because of David + Sara and their love for one another. They couldn’t have been more happier than to finally be united as husband + wife and it was so amazing to spend the first day of their marriage with them. I’m honored to share a preview of it with you today! Congratulations again, David + Sara!
ps – Cassie and her team from White Dress Events did a phenomenal job planning + orchestrating this day. Big shout out to them!! Thanks, ladies!
Two of the most important wedding guests had to have their picture with David + Sara… :)
This day. It was a Saturday in July… the sun was shining and the breeze was just right. It was a day spent at a beautiful Bed + Breakfast in the country. Friends + family gathered from all over the state to celebrate. THIS day, was the day that David + Brittany said “I do” and committed forever to each other. Yep, this was a good day.
He’s from Detroit. She’s from Lansing… but they fell in love in Grand Rapids. Over the last couple years, it has become clear to me that David + Brittany mean the world to each other. They are kind and compassionate individuals. They make each other laugh, yet they deeply care for each other and they couldn’t wait to become husband + wife!
Their festivities all took place at the Rosewood Inn in Lansing, Michigan. Everyone got ready in the Inn, the ceremony was outside in the gardens and the reception was just steps away on the beautiful property bordered by corn fields. It was an amazing venue for an amazing couple and it was truly a joy to be a part of their first day of marriage. Congratulations, David + Brittany! Thank-you for allowing me to be a part of your story :)
Can we take a moment to talk about THAT DRESS!? And how gorgeous is Brittany?? Yea, she made my job easy that day! :)
David gifted Brittany with a purple star balloon… something that’s been special to them during their relationship!
