kevin + meg – holland, mi wedding photography

Kevin + Meg absolutely adore each other and being a part of their wedding day as a photographer was a dream. They were excited, nervous, so happy and so, so enamored with each other. But being a part of their wedding day as their friend was TRULY an honor. It’s been such a blessing to watch these two fall in love (starting at GVSU where they had their ceremony!) and plan to spend the rest of their lives together. They are gracious, humble and caring individuals and that is not only portrayed in the way they interact with each other, but the way they interact with their family, friends and others. There’s a lot I could say about these two and this day, but I’ll let the images do the talking. Oh, and if you can’t get enough of them, check out their autumn engagement session in downtown Grand Rapids. That was also a great, great day.

Kevin + Meg – I love you both and am so humbled that you would trust me with capturing your wedding day. It was such a wonderful celebration and a God-honoring beginning to your forever marriage. I cannot wait to see where this marriage journey leads you two. Thank-you for inviting Jonathan and I into your lives! Congratulations, again!!Brides, take note at the awesome light in this room. At this ceremony site, typically the guys get ready in this room, but this time, Meg claimed it for more space and better natural light. It made for some really beautiful images as she was getting ready! If you have the choice, always choose a room with big windows! You’ll thank me later ;)Because of the distance between the ceremony and reception, Kev and Meg chose to do a first look to take care of most of their portraits before the ceremony. That way, the guests could drive right to the reception and not have to wait long for the party to start! I loved these sweet moments from the first time they saw each other that day…Oh, the light! The trees! I felt like we were in a secret garden during these portraits. So magical! Then, it was time for the bridal party to join us for a little while!Oh, and that handsome best man next to Kevin? That’s my hubby, Jonathan. Just thought you should know ;) The ceremony was held inside the Cook DeWitt Center on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI.After the ceremony, it was off to the Midtown Center in Holland for the reception! First, we took a couple minutes to take a few more portraits downtown before we headed in for dinner…These two LOVE craft root beer. Of course, they had to have it on tap at their reception!Closing the party down with “At Last” by Etta James. What a perfect moment.

madeline + ian

A sunny day in May and hanging out with two precious kiddos? Sounds like a good afternoon to me! :)

I recently had the chance to hang out with this brother and sister and their two awesome parents. Madeline just turned 3 and Ian just turned 1-year-old and were due for some new photos! These little ones kept me on my toes for the session, but it was such a delight! I loved getting to know these four a bit more and make some fun pictures while we were at it! Brad and Fleur, thanks for allowing me to capture some moments of your sweet family! I hope you enjoy the preview of our afternoon together!

cliff + nicole – saugatuck, mi wedding

Remember that engagement session in a blizzard from January? I couldn’t forget it! Not because the weather conditions were so crazy, but because of the amazing couple that stuck out the wintery adventure with me! Cliff + Nicole are wonderful individuals and are even more wonderful together as a couple. Since day one, they’ve had big plans for their May wedding in Saugatuck and it did not disappoint! All the hard work and planning and prepping came together in such a unique and FUN celebration! My dear friend, Alyssa, was able to join me as my second shooter and the both of us had smiles all day long because of all the awesomeness – the people, the venue, the food, the details, the love! Oh, it was such a delight!

Cliff + Nicole – thank-you so much for allowing me into your lives and to capture your wedding story for you. You two (and Cam!) are seriously great people and it was a joy to walk through the last few months with you! Enjoy reminiscing on your beautiful wedding day. I wish you two much love and happiness in the years to come!Cliff + Nicole chose to see each other before their ceremony so we would have plenty of time to get lots of great portraits! I’m ok with that ;)We made a quick stop at the two places where Cliff + Nicole had their first date!Cliff’s son, Cam, was the “Best Boy” for the day!Cliff + Nicole rented out the Saugatuck Center for the Arts for their entire wedding celebration! What a cool venue! And after the ceremony, it was right into the cocktail hour and reception just steps away!Love this sneaky shot by Alyssa. She’s awesome! The fabulous 25 Kitchen + Bar in downtown Grand Rapids catered the reception!

sarah

This month, Sarah hit a huge milestone… she became a college graduate!! Yay! When Sarah contacted me to do a session “just because” she graduated, I couldn’t wait to hang out! It was a twist on the idea of a senior session (which is typically reserved for high school seniors), but I thought it was the perfect idea to get some updated portraits for her! I say, why just commemorate a high school graduation? And why even need a reason? Anytime is a good time to laugh and make some fun images to cherish the special moments of life!

It was mostly just the two of us for the session, but two of her really good friends snuck in for a bit! Here are just a few of my favorites from our session in downtown Grand Rapids!Just a few on-campus at Calvin College with her buds, Rachel + Stephanie!

ross + julie – grand rapids wedding photography

The way Ross + Julie delicately planned the details of their wedding day made it clear that not only do these two appreciate a great party with friends and family, but they also had a strong desire to make their wedding day as special as it could be. And, despite the chilly weather, spirits were high and laughter continued throughout the day as the much-anticipated nuptials went off without a hitch. It was an absolute delight to be a part of this day. I loved watching all of their ideas come together, but more than that, it was clear that these two are absolutely smitten with each other and were so ready to become husband and wife. And that, makes my job completely worth it.
Nothing like sportin’ a little Michigan Awesome love on your wedding day!Meanwhile, in the guy’s room…Ross + Julie chose to do a “first look” so almost all the portraits could be done before the ceremony! Loved the excitement and reactions they had to seeing each other for the first time!Julie’s sister, Valerie, made all the ladies’ necklaces! (she can make custom ones for you, too! Check out her etsy site!)LOVE LOVE LOVE this custom invitation suite designed by Kelsey Duda – a fabulous michigan designer (+ friend!)!
