Remember that crush you had when you were younger? You know… the one whose name you would doodle on your school papers and notebooks? The one you would daydream about and hope to bump into in the hallway? What if that crush actually became your high school girlfriend or boyfriend and you were able to go to dances and football games together? What if the crush lasted past high school and became something much more than just a crush… And WHAT IF, one day, you could call that person your spouse??
This story is a reality for Cody + Anne… it started as a crush in high school and only got better! These two have been together since they were 16. Anne admits to doodling Cody’s name with hearts all over her trapper-keeper… and even recently found his name etched in the bottom of her mom’s old billiard table (seriously!). Their story continued into college and grew and deepened with life experience. It held on through the distant-times and dreamt about the day when “dating” could turn into “forever”. Cody + Anne’s story is special and beautiful and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.
The last time you saw these two was in January for their engagement session. Now, I’m thrilled to share their wedding day with you. It took place on a sunny June day in Traverse City, Michigan. And you better believe, when you’ve dated for over 10 years, the wedding day is nothing short of a wonderful celebration! The ceremony was held on the top of Mt. Holiday – a ski resort on the southeast side of town. The reception followed at Timber Ridge Resort – in the campground’s lodge complete with an outdoor barbeque, a bonfire and lots of homemade pies. Everything about this day was AWESOME and I’m so excited to share a preview with you today!
Cody + Anne didn’t have a DJ or a live band or even an iPod hook-up for the entertainment… they had DUELING PIANOS. It was legit. SO much fun!!
