He’s a boy from Maine, and she’s a girl from Michigan. They met during the summer of 2010 while working at the same camp in Jackman, Maine. They worked a couple summers together and formed a great friendship. When life + jobs took them away from Maine, they stayed in touch… but they were just friends.
Fast forward a few years, to Fall of 2013. Jen decided to stick around Maine for the winter… and coincidentally, Jake found himself a job in Maine, too. ;) It wasn’t long before the both realized they had a deeper connection than just being friends and they began dating. This past spring, Jake proposed to Jen on a sunny day in Boston where they both currently reside. They immediately began making wedding plans and will vow to become husband + wife in Jackman – where it all began five years ago.
Jen is a dear friend of mine – she is a kind, joyful and caring woman. As I’ve heard about Jake and subsequently gotten to know him and see them in relationship together – it’s so clear that they are meant to be. Jake is an intelligent, loving and genuine man. He makes Jen laugh and thinks the world of her. Together, they are an unstoppable team and I can’t wait to see where this marriage adventure takes them!
Jen + Jake opted to do their engagement session in a place that is near and dear to Jen’s heart – Pentwater, Michigan. It’s where she grew up, and it’s a place that Jake has come to love as he fell in love with Jen. We wandered through town, dipped our toes in Lake Michigan and enjoyed some ice cream together. It was a really, really lovely day. And I’m excited to share a preview with you today!
