Wow. Where has June gone? In the couple weeks since I last blogged, I’ve captured a handful of weddings and numerous sessions on my camera and I’ve been excitedly sifting through and editing all the images. I can’t wait to share some of them with you VERY soon! For starters, I’d love to share with you the June wedding of Josh + Chelsea!

I’ve been in conversation with Chelsea for a while. We met back in 2009 when she was a bridesmaid in one of the weddings I shot. Since then, she has gotten engaged and started her own photo business, so we’ve had lots to chat about ;) Well, their wedding day finally arrived a few weeks ago and it was truly a wonderful affair! I was so glad I could be a part of it! The entire event was held in a friend’s backyard on a small lake in West Bloomfield, MI. Family and friends came from Florida to New York and all over the country to be a part of the celebration. Not only were the details of their day absolutely gorgeous, everything about the day was special because the couple knew everyone involved in putting the wedding together – from the caterers to the florists. It definitely made the entire afternoon feel personal and well taken care of! The weather was threatening to mess up the plans for this outdoor wedding all week long, but it ended up working out PERFECTLY (I just love when that happens!).

Josh + Chelsea – it was a honor to be a part of your wedding day. We had so much fun celebrating with you and I hope you enjoy reminiscing on your joyous day!
Meanwhile, the guys were bowling in a 1920s-style alley in the basement of the clubhouse down the street. A perfect way to wait for the ladies to finish getting ready ;)Just a few sweet moments from their first look…After the first look and portraits, the guests began to arrive so it was time to prepare for the ceremony!Josh + Chelsea read each other their vows, then placed the pages in a jar. This jar was passed throughout the audience and each guest placed their name inside the jar as well. This symbolized Josh + Chelsea’s commitment to each other and the guests commitment to helping them keep their marriage vows. I love this idea! And as the pastor was giving his final words and blessing, the sun came back out and shined brightly as he pronounced them husband and wife. It was a spectacular moment.Once all the guests were comfortably seated and ready for the reception, Josh + Chelsea were announced and immediately began their first dance. At the same time, the clouds opened up the rain came down… Again, just perfect. Here are the newlyweds, mid-dance, surprised by the storm that so suddenly arrived:But when you’ve got an awesome party in a tent, the rain can’t keep you down. Josh + Chelsea celebrated their union late into the evening. Good times.
