Today, I am excited to share with you the wedding story of Mike + Kristen. You may recognize these two from their engagement session this summer (don’t worry – here’s a link in case you’d like to check it out!). From the moment I sat down with Mike + Kristen, I was so delighted to tell their story. These two love each other and they love their beautiful city – and the entire celebration was a true reflection of that.
Family + friends gathered for an intimate, memorable, and stellar evening in honor of these newlyweds. The wedding was held in the ever-awesome city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was so great to celebrate amongst the excitement of ArtPrize – and despite the crowds, we managed to enjoy some art and have fun making portraits around town. The ceremony + reception were both held at the Downtown Market. It was my first time shooting a wedding there and it did not disappoint!
Honestly, it’s really hard to put into words how wonderful this day was – so, I’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking ;) Without further adieu… here’s a little peak into Mike + Kristen’s wedding story…
The ladies got ready at The Lafayette House… a perfect little bed + breakfast in the historical district of GR.
Sometimes, you just have to do a surprise Harlem Shake to kick off the reception… right? :)
Guests had to answer trivia questions about M + K in order to win the right to go through the buffet line… it got pretty crazy :)
Dessert was delicious ice cream from Love’s Ice Cream. Yummmmm!
They had the BEST live band join them for the evening… Brena! These guys are SUPER talented and provided an awesome dance party for all the guests!
JENN. SO GOOD. Absolutely beautiful images! I hope you are so so so proud of these! Nailed it.
