Can it be the last day of 2012 already?? I can’t believe it! I’ve enjoyed a quieter schedule the past couple weeks as I spent time with family and friends – celebrating winter and the Christmas holiday. It was nice to have a bit of time to reflect on the beauty of the season and what a blessed year 2012 has been. In the next few weeks, as I finish editing + blogging, I will put a wrap on the 2012 wedding season completely… another wedding season, another year, come and gone. Crazy! This year has held so much goodness and growth, and for that, I am extremely grateful. I’m looking forward to ringing in a new year, and know that 2013 will be nothing short of exciting as Jonathan and I continue to figure out who we are and the stories we are writing as a couple and as individuals…and continue to mold and develop this wonderful little business. Thank-YOU for allowing me into your lives and for inviting me to photograph you, your family and YOUR stories. I know I say it a lot, but it truly is an honor and a joy to be able to be a photographer and consider this my “job”, because most days, it doesn’t feel like work. So, to you, THANK-YOU for being fun and awesome and for continuing to trust me with your memories and for continuing to follow this blog. You rule. I mean it!

Today, I’d love to share with you a little bit of Dave + Sandy’s wedding story. Last month, on a chilly Saturday morning (with even a few of our first snow flurries!), Dave + Sandy committed their lives to one other. These two individuals are some of the most kind, sweet and caring people I have had the privilege of knowing. They possess a deep love for each other, they know how to surprise one another and keep things fun and romantic. Their day was a refreshing and sweet celebration – a true reminder of the purpose of a wedding and the profound joy it is to unite two individuals together in marriage. Dave + Sandy, thank-you for inviting me into your lives. May you continue to surprise each other and take adventures often – I wish you both the best! :)
Sandy’s dad walked her down the aisle… and then, had the honor of also officiating the ceremony. I’ve witnessed this only a couple other times before, and every time, I can’t get over how beautiful it is to watch a father perform both of these roles in the ceremony.Dave + Sandy’s reception was at one of the coolest new venues in Grand Rapids – The John Ball Zoo Bissell TREE HOUSE!. I was pretty excited to check out the new venue that sits on top of a hill, in the trees, overlooking downtown Grand Rapids. You even have to take a funicular (a train-like vehicle) to get up there! Yea, it was sweet.
