Last summer, we met up with Kara + Preston in St. Joseph, Michigan for their engagement photos on the big lake! For weeks leading up to the session, we discussed the plan for an evening shoot to end with a sunset. Well the day of the shoot, the forecast was looking tricky – with definite rain + clouds until close to dinner time, or maybe longer. With a glimmer of hope, we decided to press on – and wouldn’t you know, Lake Michigan decided to show off just for these two in the knick of time! (see below!)

As we finished their session and sat on the beach together watching the sun make its final descent… we asked them about their engagement season and their excitement for marriage and what it felt like to embark on this new chapter together. We laughed together, shed a few tears, and advised them to enjoy the journey – because the next year was about to fly by.

And here we are… on their wedding day, just under a year later. There’s no rain in the forecast today and family + friends have traveled near + far to witness their love. It’s going to be a good one – and we cannot wait to celebrate with them!!
