It was a cold, rainy morning. Kate had driven across the state the night before so she could wake up early and drive north with me. She was going to be my second shooter at a wedding in Northern Michigan. As we drove for hours in the rain, we talked about anything and everything from photography to school to marriage to love. I smiled as she talked about Matt and her excitement to marry him one day (hopefully soon!) and be his wife. Well, just a few months later, Matt proposed and they began planning their March wedding! I was thrilled to get the call from Kate and to be invited to photograph their day!
Matt + Kate are one of those couples that you just want to be friends with. They are super sweet, kind, totally in love and totally awesome. Their wedding day was a beautiful day filled with lots of smiles and laughter from everyone. They held their ceremony and reception at a renovated bank in Pontiac, MI… and the celebration did not disappoint! Here is a just a glimpse into what the beginning of forever looked like for Matt + Kate. (Oh, and if you can’t get enough of these two, check out their autumn engagement session! The beautiful little flower girls delivered gifts from/to the bride and groom!
It’s an old Greek wedding tradition to write the names of all the single lady friends on the bottom of the bride’s shoe. The last name remaining at the end of the night is the next to wed!
