Happy Monday, everyone!! It’s hard to believe we’re almost through July already! I hope your summers have been full of delight, sunshine, and good memories! Our summer has been filled to the brim with with settling into a new apartment, traveling across the state + country for wedding + shoots, and enjoying lots of fun times with friends + family. Despite the crazy days, we love this time of year… especially because we get to celebrate some special moments with so many wonderful people! And today, we are THRILLED to share a very special wedding with you! This is the wedding story of my cousin, Katie, marrying her guy, Patrick in his home state of Nevada.
It’s been so good to get to know Pat + Katie as a couple! I’ve known Katie since she was born, and watching her journey to adulthood has been really special. She is intelligent + driven, while also being gentle + kind. She has a big heart that is full of compassion for others. Seeing her with Pat is a joy. Pat is also smart + driven… and patient + caring. He loves his people intentionally and invests in the relationships around him. They compliment each other so well and they have an immense respect for one another. I love the way they cheer one another on, make each other laugh, and bring out the best in each other. The love they share is beautiful + sweet and so wonderful to be around.
When Katie + Pat thought about their wedding day – they imagined being in the mountains surrounded by fresh air, trees, and water. They both love to hike, they love to be outdoors, and they are always up for an adventure. Pat grew up in Nevada, not far from Lake Tahoe. This lake is a place where he spent many summers growing up… and it is one that Katie has come to love, too! So, what better place to plan an outdoor wedding than at Lake Tahoe? This picturesque location is not only beautiful and what they envisioned for their wedding, but the added importance it shared for them made it the right choice for their celebration!
Their entire wedding day was so lovely! Katie’s family rented a gorgeous lodge for the festivities – the ladies got ready there, and the ceremony + reception were held in the backyard. The day started early, since it was a morning ceremony, but the weather was warm + sunny… creating the perfect summery atmosphere. After their heartfelt vows in front of close friends + family, everyone enjoyed coffee, donuts, and brunch while they toasted the newlyweds! We snuck away for some bridal party portraits on the lake, just a few blocks away and then sent the couple off late in the afternoon! It was intimate, simple, and so sweet… and perfectly Pat + Katie :) It was an honor to be witness to it… and a day we won’t soon forget! Congratulations, you two!!
