Ok, so this is a day late. Oops. :) Anyways… as I sat down to write this post, I opened up my blog post from November 28, 2010. Hard to believe that year was only a year ago – and we’ve already conquered another year!

To think that Jonathan and I have been married two years sometimes seems like an eternity and sometimes seems like we are Β still newlyweds. I won’t lie – our first year was hard. Life threw us and our loved ones too many curveballs to catch. However, I was beyond grateful for my husband and his steadfastness and the fact that we could do life together during those times. In this second year, life has been a little nicer to us. We’ve traveled a lot for school, for work and for family – from ALL over Michigan, to Washington, to California a couple times, and down south to Tennessee. While we have discovered that we love traveling together, we also truly love our simple little life in Grand Rapids. Our cozy apartment is perfect for entertaining evening or weekend guests. Weekly date nights are a staple to our relationship. We’ve found that we love taking walks around our neighborhood, visiting Lake Michigan, drinking delicious coffee and playing dominoes together. I’m learning to enjoy football Saturdays AND Sundays, and he is learning how to support my creativity, artsiness and my need to randomly wander through antique stores.

I’m eternally grateful that God has blessed me with such a wonderful husband. Jonathan is my best friend, my love, my confidant and the one I am thrilled to be able to grow old with. Every day and week holds a new adventure in this crazy thing we call life – and I couldn’t have asked for a better adventure-partner :)

happy two years, my love! here’s to year number three!
